Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Synapli ("we", "us", "the app") is an AI-powered study app that provides a tutor chatbot, flashcards, and notes. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Synapli you agree to this policy.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: email address, display name, and an encrypted password (or Google sign-in identifier). Required to sign in and attribute your content to you.
  • Study content: flashcard decks, notebooks, notes, drawings, collections, tutor chat history. Stored so you can return to them across devices.
  • Subscription data: plan (free, monthly, annual, lifetime), status, and expiration. Payment card details are NEVER seen or stored by Synapli — they are handled directly by our payment processors.
  • Usage data: aggregate counts (e.g. number of tutor messages used this month) needed to enforce free-tier limits.
  • Voice and file input: when you record voice or upload a file to generate flashcards, the audio/text is sent to our AI provider for processing. We do not retain raw audio after transcription.
  • Device data: standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide the core features (tutor, flashcards, notes, collections).
  • To authenticate you and sync your content across devices.
  • To process subscription payments and grant Pro entitlements.
  • To enforce free-tier limits and prevent abuse.
  • To communicate essential service messages (password reset, billing receipts).

We do not sell your data, show third-party ads, or use your study content to train AI models.

4. Third-party processors

Synapli uses the following sub-processors to operate. Each is contractually bound to handle your data securely:

  • Lovable Cloud (Supabase): database, authentication, and file storage. Hosts your account and study content.
  • Google AI (Gemini) via Lovable AI Gateway: powers tutor responses, flashcard generation, and answer grading. Your prompts are transmitted to Google for inference and are not used to train their models.
  • RevenueCat: manages subscription entitlements and receipts.
  • Stripe: processes payments. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen by Synapli.

5. Data retention

Your study content is retained for as long as your account exists. You can delete individual items (cards, decks, notes) at any time from the app. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at the email below — we will permanently erase your data within 30 days.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, and others), you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email us to exercise any of these rights.

7. Children

Synapli is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted via row-level security so each user can only read or modify their own records.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised policy.
